Australian Cattle Dogs
Australian Cattle Dogs were initially
bred to herd cattle, to this day many
still do.
Australian Cattle Dogs have a moderate
build, with great endurance, they use
their tails as a rudder to allow for quick
stops and sudden turns. Australian Cattle
Dogs are 35-45 lbs and 17-20 inches tall.
The female Australian Cattle Dogs are
usually smaller than their male counterparts.
Australian Cattle Dogs are smart, independent,
and tireless They can be stubborn but
are easy to train and they are known to
be hard workers. Australian Cattle Dogs
do best when they have a job to do, if
you don’t choose a job for them, they
will choose a job on their own (a job
you might not approve of). Australian
Cattle Dogs require daily physical and
mental exercise. Without regular stimulation
the Australian Cattle Dog can become destructive.
The Australian Cattle Dog has a weather-resistant
coat of short hair. Australian Cattle
Dogs have a blue, blue-mottle, or red
speckled coat, that requires very little
maintenance and only occasional brushing
to remove dead hair.
The typical life span of an Australian
Cattle Dogs 10-13 years.
