Origins: Shelties were initially
bred on the Shetland Islands off the coast
of Scotland, to herd sheep.
Description: Shelties resemble
rough collies, but in a much smaller form.
Shelties are narrowly built with a lean,
sturdy body, a narrow nose, semi-erect
ears, and a thick double coat.
Size: Shelties weigh 14 to 27
lbs, they stand 13 to 16 inches tall at
their shoulder.

Coat: Shelties have a long, double
coat that is sable, mahogany sable, shaded
sable, tri-colored, bi-black, bi-blue,
blue merle, bi-blue merle, sable merle,
color headed white, or double merle in
color.
Disposition: Shelties are bright,
sensitive dogs, they are obedient and
quick to learn. Shelties will instinctively
herd small children by nipping at their
heels. Shelties require moderate exercise.

to litters of 4 to 6 puppies.
