Origins: Keeshond is part of the
spitz family of dogs, they were established
in Holland. Keeshonds were watchdogs aboard
small vessels that navigated the Rhine
river. They were effectively barge companion
dogs.
Description: Keeshonds are squarely
built, they are sturdy. Keeshonds have
almond shaped eyes, triangular wedge ears
that stand erect. The keeshonds tail curls
over his back and lies close to his body.
Size: Keeshond dogs weigh 35 -
45 lbs, they stand 17 to 19 inches tall
at their shoulder.

Coat: Keeshonds have a long straight
outer coat, that creats a mane of fur.
The keeshonds undercoat is downy providing
insulation from the cold. A keeshonds
coat is a mixture of gray, black and cream.
Disposition: Keeshonds are playful
attentive and loving. Keeshonds are good
pets for children or adults, they are
also know as effective watch dogs.
