Origins: Shiba Inus is on of the
smallest spitz dog breed that originated
in the mountainous northern regions of
Japan in the 1600's.
Description: The Shiba Inu is
a small to medium size, muscular dog with
a broad head and curled tail. Shiba Inus
have erect ears and a "mask"
of darker fur on their face.
Size: Shiba Inus weigh between
20 and 30 lbs, they stand 13 to 17 inches
tall at their shoulder.

Coat: Shiba Inus have thick double
coats, made of stiff, short-hair that
is red, fawn, sesame, brindle, pure white,
all with whitish coat on the sides of
the muzzle, on the cheeks, on the underside
of jaw, neck, chest, body and tail and
on the inside of the legs.
Disposition: Shiba Inus were historically
bred as both a hunting and a fighting
dog, they are naturally aggressive and
very dominant animals. Shiba Inus are
intelligent and loyal dogs, they are loving,
devoted and gentle towards their master
and their families. The Shiba Inu is a
good guard dog and is weary and suspicious
of any person or animal that it doesn't
know. Shiba Inus are best in a home without
children or small pets.

Litter Size: Shiba Inus give birth
to litters of 3 to 5 puppies.
Behavior: Shiba Inus are strong-willed,
and confident dogs, they require moderate
daily exercise and plenty of mental stimuli
