Origins: The American Eskimo dog
was originally bred to guard people and
property. They eventually became the "circus"
dogs featured in Germany.
Description: American Eskimo Dogs
are compactly built,energetic with long
fur. American Eskimos have pointed ears
and sweet faces, with a curly tail.
Size: American Eskimo Dogs come
in three sizes, standard, miniature, and
toy. The toy stands 9 to 12 inches at
the shoulder and weighs 7 to 10 lbs. The
miniature American Eskimo Dog stands 12
to 15 inches and weighs 11 to 20 lbs.
The standard American Eskimo Dogs stands
15 to 19 inches and weighs 20 to 40 lbs.
