Origins: St Bernards were initially bred
for alpine rescues. The St Bernard was bred at
the Hospice of St Bernard de Menthon in the Alps
as rescue dogs.
Description: Saint Bernards are large
dogs with a square build. St Bernards have a broad
head drooping triangular ears and a squarish head.
Size: St Bernards weigh between 110 to
200 lbs, they stand 26 to 35 inches tall at the
shoulder.

Coat: St Bernards have two different types
of coats, either smooth or rough coats. The St
Bernards coat canb e red and white, brindle, brownish-yellow,
reddish or brown mantle.
Disposition: Saint Bernards are calm,
loyal and affectionate dogs if they are well socialized,
they can be a good family dog. Patient and obedient.
St Bernards do not require that much exercise
considering their size.

litters of 6 to 8 puppies.
