Origins: Maltese were originially
bred as a ratting dog.
Description: Maltese are small
dogs, with short compact bodies and short
legs. They have long, silky fur with black
button eyes, and and a black nose.
Size: Maltese dogs weigh 2 to
7 lbs, they stand 8 to 10 inches tall.

Coat: Maltese dogs have long white
silky coats. Maltese dogs sometimes have
"lemon" markings.
Disposition: Maltese dogs are
cuddly, and affectionate but may snap
at small children. Maltese are playful
and bold, especially when you consdier
their size, they are quick to sound alarm
when strangers approach.
