Origins: Kuvasz originated in
Tibet, and took hold in Hungary. Kuvasz
were used as royal bodyguards during the
Hungarian Renaissance.
Description: Kuvasz are sturdily
built medium to large sized dogs. Kuvasz
have an elongated but not pointed head,
they have folded triangular shaped ears
that hang down.
Size: Kuvasz are large dogs that
weigh from 70 to 115 lbs. Kuvasz stand
26 to 30 inches at the shoulder.

Coat: Kuvasz have a stiff dense
double coat that is pure white or ivory
in color.
Disposition: Kuvasz are naturally
good with children, and are protective.
They are patient and take their time making
up their minds. They are wary of strangers
and loyal to their family.
Type Dog: Kuvasz are guardians
or watch dogs.
Litter Size: Kuvasz give birth
to litters with 7 to 8 puppies.
Behavior: Because of their protective
nature Kuvasz should be well-socialized
when they are young. Kuvasz require a
good amount of exercise on a daily basis
and are considered a "country dog".
Traits: Wary, loyal, patient,
and independent.

Life Span: Kuvasz dogs typically
live 10 to 12 years.
