Origins: Tibetan Terriers were initially
bred to herd and guard stock in the remote Himalayan
region of Tibet. In fact the Tibetan Terrier is
still used in Tibet for herding.
Description: Tibetan Terriers is a square-proportioned
compact, but powerfully built dog. They have large
paws that help supply maximum traction in difficult
terrain. The Tibetan Terriers ears lay flat and
the tail falls forward over their backs.
Size: Tibetan Terriers weigh between 18
to 30 lbs, and they stand 14 to 16 inches tall
at the shoulder.

Coat: Tibetan Terriers have a profuse
long, thick, double coat. The Tibetan Carrier
has a profuse fine, straight outercoat, and a
soft wooly undercoat. Tibetan Terriers come in
a variety of colors that includes: black/white,
tricolor, silver, gray, cream, golden, black and
any color except chocolate or liver.
Disposition: Tibetan Terriers are social
dogs and love people! Tibetan Terriers are gentle
and amiable, they want to please. They are affectionate
with their families. Tibetan Terriers may have
a tendency to chase cats or small dogs.

Litter Size: Tibetan Terriers typically
give birth to litters with 5 to 8 puppies.
Behavior: Tibetan Terriers require regular
exercise and daily affection or they may act out.
Tibetan Terriers may be reserved with strangers.
They can be stubborn and may not always obey.

alert, and companionable.
