Origins: Grand Bassets originated
in France to course hares. They are still
used today to hunt boar, deer, and to
track rabbit and hare.
Description: Grand Bassets have
long bodies and short legs. Grand Bassets
have characteristically long hair over
their eyebrows, and over their snouts
giving them the appearance of having beards
and moustaches.
Size: Grand Basset is a medium
size dog that weighs between 39 and 44
lbs, they stand 15 to 17 inches tall at
their shoulder.
