Origins: As the name suggest the West
Highland White Terrier originated in the Western
Scottish Highlands. They were initially bred to
hunt rats.
Description: West Highland White Terriers
have a small compact build, they have a domed
skull, pointed small erect ears, a naturally short
tail. Their legs are short, while their body is
long.
Size: West Highland White Terriers are
15 to 20 lbs and stand 15 to 16 inches tall at
teh shoulder.

Coat: The West Highland White Terrier
have a wiry, harsh double coat that is white in
color.
Disposition: West Highland White Terriers
are friendly and strong-willed. The temperment
of the breed varies from dog to dog, some are
friendly with children while others prefer solitude.
