Origins: The Pekingese was initially
bred by the Chinese to be companions to
the Emperor of China.
Description: The Pekingese is
a small, compact, dog with a small head,
flat face and large eyes. The Pekingese
has a long body that is low to the ground.
Pekingese have an underbite, and a high-set
tail.
Size: Pekingese dogs weigh 7 to
14 lbs, they stand 6 to 9 inches tall
at their shoulder.

Coat: The Pekingese dog has a
a double coat, the outer coat is long
and coarse in texture with profuse feathering.
A Pekingese's coat comes in all colors,
sometimes it will have markings with a
black mask.
Disposition: Pekingese dogs are
not terribly good or tolerant of other
pets. Pekingese can be incredibly stubborn
and strong-willed.

Litter Size: Pekingese dogs give
birth to litters of 2 to 4 puppies.
Behavior: Pekingese dogs can be
stubborn, and can be difficult to train,
