Origins: The earliest toy spaniels
resembling the papillon are found in famous
Italian paintings. It is believed that
the modern day papillon descended from
these toy spaniels.
Description: Papillons are small
toy dogs, with large fringed ears with
lots of fur that resemble a butterfly.
In fact Papillons are named for the French
word "papillon" meaning butterfly.
Papillons are small boned tiny dogs with
long silky fur.
Size: Papillons weigh 7 to 10
lbs, they measure 8 to 11 inches tall.
