Origins: Ibizan Hounds were initially
bred to hunt rabbits, using both sight
and sound.
Description: Ibizan hounds are
lean and agile, with large erect ears.
Ibizan Hounds are relatively stocky and
built for speed. They have a long pointed
snout. Ibizan hounds have unique striking
amber color eyes. Ibizan hounds have exceptional
hearing and ability to smell.
Size: Ibizan hounds weigh between
42 to 55 lbs, and they stand 22.5 to 29
inches at their shoulder.

Coat: Ibizan Hounds come in both
smooth and wire-coated varieties. The
Ibizan Hounds coat is a combination of
red and white with the nose, ears, eye
rims, and pads of feet being a light tan
color
Disposition: Ibizan hounds are
known as clowns. They maybe reserved with
strangers, and even timid. Ibizan Hounds
are mild-mannered and even-tempered.

dogs used for hunting.
Litter Size: Ibizan Hounds give
birth to litters of 6 to 12 puppies.
Behavior: Ibizan Hound are independent
and athletic dogs, they require daily
exercise and the ability to run full-out
on occasion. They are actually agile jumpers,
and my escape an enclosed area if the
walls are not adequate height.
Traits: Ibizan Hounds are alert,
adaptable, sensitive and loyal.

to have come from island of Ibiza)

have a life span of 10 to 12 years.
