Origins: Rottweilers originiated in the
German town of Rottweil. Rottweilers were initially
bred to drive cattle and as a guard dog.
Description: Rottweilers are large powerful
dogs that are large boned, and very well muscled.
Rottweilers have a thick chest, broad skulls,
square muzzle, docked tail and triangular floppy
ears.
Size: Rottweiler dogs weigh 77 to 130
lbs, they stand 22 to 27 inches tall.

Coat: Rottweilers have a short glossy
coat that is always black, it can have tan or
mahogany markings around nose and feet.
Disposition: Rottweilers are intelligent
dogs, but have a tendency toward dominance and
can be aggressive if not well socialized. Rottweilers
require firm, consistent training from an early
age.
