Great Dane Dog Breed Traits
The Great Dane breed originated in Germany
in 2000. The Great Dane was initially
used to hunt large game.
The Great Danes also referred to as the
Deutsche Dogge. Additionally the Great
Dane is a large dog, known as a gentle
giant. The Great Dane has a long well-chiseled
face with a distinctive square face. Great
Dane’s have pointy erect ears.
Great Dane’s come n a variety of colors
including black, blue, brindle, fawn and
harlequin (black and white). The Great
Dane is 100-180 lbs and 30-35 inches.
Female Great Danes are generally smaller
than their male counterparts. Great Danes
are powerful and elegant, they are well
balanced. They have short thick glossy
coats.
Great Danes are friendly and dependable.
Great Danes are good with children but
a small child may find their size intimidating.
Great Dane’s require moderate exercise.
Great Dane’s have a tendency to drool,
they do not require much grooming.
The Great Dane’s life span is 7-10 years.
