Standard Schnauzer Traits
The Standard Schnauzer was used in World War I as a
dispatch carrier and aide. In addition they were used
in police work.
Standard Schnauzers have a rectangular build with a
rectangular head, they are known for their moustache,
beard and bushy eyebrows. Standard Schnauzers are 35-45
lbs and stand 17.5-19.5 inches tall. The female standard
schnauzers are smaller than the males.
Standard Schnauzers are solid black or salt and pepper.
Standard Schnauzers have a solid build with a wiry coat.
They require grooming twice per week.
Standard Schnauzers are bold and lively. The Standard
Schnauzer requires daily physical and mental exercise,
if they are not stimulated they can become mischievous.
Standard Schnauzers are reliable with children, it is
good with other family pets, but it can be aggressive
toward other strange dogs. Standard Schnauzers can be
reserved with strangers.
Standard Schnauzer has a typical life span of 12-14
years.
