in Great Britain in the 1600s. The Gordon
Setter was developed by the 4th Duke of
Richmond and Gordon in Banffshire, Scotland.
The Gordon Setter was initially bred
to retrieve birds. The term “setter” originates
from the way such dogs “set” after they
locate game.

Setter tends to be slightly smaller than
its male counterpart. The Gordon Setter

other dogs. The Gordon Setter is however
a devoted family dog. The Gordon Setter
requires daily exercise, its coat is black
and tan and requires regular brushing
every 2-3 days.

and stamina rather than speed. The Gordon
